BodySoulSynergy is a spiritual movement and dance practice, a journey of spiritual awakening. The practice moves between somatic bodywork, therapeutic dance, movement exploration and deep inquiry into the movement of the soul. A central point is to practice being present with the body, emotions, movements, and thoughts as they shift and change.
The work has two main pillars: Somatic Bodywork and SoulDance. Our body is a portal to sense, feel, and draw inward. We awaken through deep and soft bodywork and seek rest by letting go into the earth. Silence and space is then given for seeds to appear, and they can then be danced.
Many people spend most of their time in the mental dimension. BodySoulSynergy counterbalances this and cultivates the ability to be present in emotions—even strong ones—so they can flow through you, and you can contain them; being open and accessible in the present, in the here-and-now.
BodySoulSynergy has evolved from a deep longing to come home, where body, soul and spirit exist in synergy; a cry for bringing tenderness into our existence. Through archetypal and mythical structures, we explore, dance, and express our inner longing and potential in order to align ourselves with our Dharma, our purpose in life.
BodySoulSynergy is an ongoing exploration into dance as a spiritual practice. The somatic bodywork and movement therapy part of the practice draws wisdom and exercises from Kinetic Awareness, Body-Mind Centering, Somatic Experience, touch-work and meditation. The pivot point of SoulDance is the practice of Intentional DancePrayer, which Anette Torgersen is developing. The structures of this practice are inspired by the constellation work of Hellinger, Authentic Movement, art and dance therapy, dance improvisation, spiritual Bakti practice, and the path of Awakening Woman.
